Tanya Finnimore Promotion

Following Tanya Finnimore’s recent promotion to Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer, we asked her to provide feedback on her career to date and her aspirations for the future with Earth Environmental & Geotechnical (EEG)

Firstly, congratulations on your recent promotion. Can you share your experience working at EEG so far? What have been some of the key highlights and challenges?

My experience at EEG has been really positive so far. One of the key highlights has been that I’ve been able to take part in so many interesting and different projects. Whether it’s battery storage site investigations, contamination assessments, or basic geotechnical investigation projects, each one requires different ways of thinking, and there’s always a wide range of variety with each project.

I always look forward to the next challenge, especially when a project focuses on sustainable resource management, particularly the development of brownfield sites, as these align directly with the specialisation I pursued during my Master’s degree in Environmental Management. Overall, I’m really enjoying my time here and feel that I’m learning and growing my expertise with each project.

What new responsibilities or challenges are you looking forward to in this role, and how do you think it will help you grow?

I’m excited about the opportunity to tackle more complex and technically challenging projects. I anticipate this role will push me for more direct interaction with clients and ultimately lead to a greater involvement in project management, from initial consultation to final delivery. I hope to deepen my technical expertise, which will make me more well-rounded and skilled at my job, enhancing my ability to provide better service to clients and further my career in the geo-environmental sector.

How do you see this promotion impacting your long-term career at EEG, and what are your future aspirations within the company?

I see this promotion as a significant step in my long-term career progression at EEG. It provides a platform to further develop my technical expertise and leadership skills, which I believe are crucial for taking on more senior roles in the future. My aspirations within EEG include continuing to grow into a principal-level consultant and contributing to the strategic direction of the geo-environmental department. I’m committed to EEG’s success and see myself contributing here for many years to come.
