Bat surveys can only be undertaken when bats are active (April – September). Where there is potential for a maternity roost, surveys must be undertaken between May and early August.
Any planning application involving demolition or change of use of buildings, tree/hedgerow removal or other changes that could affects bats or their habitats is likely to require a robust assessment of potential impacts to bats.
