Senior GeoEnvironmental Consultant at our North West Head Office, Well Done Bethany!

It is always fantastic when a member of our team is promoted, this month Bethany Garratty progressed to Senior GeoEnvironmental Consultant at our North West Head Office. Bethany joined Earth Environmental & Geotechnical’s Head Office just 2 years ago as a graduate and is a valued member of the team.

Over the last two years, Bethany has been involved in an extensive range of projects and training including the planning and execution of geotechnical investigations and preparation of technical reports involving geotechnical analysis, data interpretation, and design recommendations, aligned with British codes and regulations. She has worked extensively on site completing soil and rock sampling, groundwater sampling/analysis, ground gas monitoring, and geophysical surveys. She has also contributed to the design of foundation systems, retaining walls, and slope stabilization measures, considering soil behaviour across numerous sites throughout the UK.

As Earth Environmental has offices throughout the UK,  Bethany has had the opportunity to collaborate with other regional offices, clients, and contractors proving to be a great team player and ensuring geotechnical considerations were integrated into overall project planning and design. Bethany has also assisted in the use of specialist geotechnical software to develop precise models for enhanced data comprehension and analysis.

Bethany’s Background

Bethany graduated in 2021 with a BSc in Geography and Geology, 2:1 she completed her dissertation on ‘The Regional Geology of Ossau, French Pyrenees’ and developed a range of geological skills whilst independent mapping of the area.

She also completed a placement at Environment Agency, which consisted of networking with staff and linked companies (e.g., United Utilities) and communicating issues with river restoration.  She is also an enthusiastic graduate, who not only has a real passion for the role, but she is also a qualification in PADI Open Water Diving and has represented Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Over the last 10 years of business Earth Environmental & Geotechnical has recruited many graduates to work in our regional offices throughout the UK.  It is always a pleasure to be able to promote and support our team’s training and career progression.
