Ground Investigation & Basement Impact Assessment North London

Basement Impact Assessment
Earth Environmental was commissioned to undertake a deep window sample borehole Ground Investigation & Basement Impact assessment at an existing property in London. The property had limited access for a proposed deep basement development (circa 6-8m)

Access to the drilling locations required all drilling equipment to be transported through the occupied property which excluded many typical drilling techniques (which often require vehicle access as a minimum).

Using our knowledge of advances in window sample drilling technology, and experience of limited access works in London, EEGSL organised specialist drilling contractors to attend site and complete two modular window sample boreholes across the site to depths of 10mbgl.

The investigation allowed the collection of insitu and laboratory design information alongside the installation of deep groundwater monitoring wells.

The site investigation was designed and  supervised full time by an experienced Earth Environmental Consultant and all fieldworks were carried out in accordance with BS 5930:2015 Code of Practice for Site Investigations.

The works culminated with the production of a detailed Ground Investigation & Basement Impact Assessment and Interpretative Geotechnical Report for the assessment site including :

Geotechnical Design Information;

  • Preliminary Hydrogeological Ground Model
  • Contaminated Land Risk Assessment
  • Waste Soil Classification
  • Ground Gas Risk Assessment
