Earth Environmental were commissioned to undertake a deep window sample borehole ground investigation and basement impact assessment at an existing property in London. The property had limited access for a proposed deep basement development (circa 6-8m) Access to the drilling locations required all drilling equipment to be transported through the occupied property which excluded many typical drilling techniques (which often require vehicle access as a minimum).

Slope Stability Assessment & Remedial Design Wilmslow Golf Club

Earth Environmental were requested complete a slope stability assessment and develop remedial designs at Wilmslow Golf Club. This was to assess the stability of a slope by the 18th green. For a number of years there was slippage of the footpath at the top of the slope. Following a heavy  period of rain in February 2019 the slope moved by approximately 500mm with a classical circular slip evident.

A previous consultancy practice had conducted a site investigation (and remediation strategy) on the site and concluded that half of the site required a piled foundation solution and extensive remediation including gas protection measures.

Part of the site was a former fuel retailing facility which ceased trading over thirty years ago. There were no records relating to the operation or decommissioning of the site.

HM Coastguard had reported a section of the cliff had collapsed in early 2020. As part of the study, a Phase I Desk Study was carried out, including obtaining a site-specific geological and ground stability report.
